Throughout this project, I have worked to hone my craft and grow as a poet. I believe that I have succeeded, as much as a finite term like success can be applied to a matter of one's craft, and that I will be able to better use my words and skills as a writer to move people with my works. I've learned a lot by reading and working with other poets' works, and I think that those inspirations have influenced my works. One of the most beneficial things I did was practice my own poetry, with deliberate choices in how I wrote and some attempts at interesting styles. Another fun thing was getting to interview both my good friend Jude, as well as myself. I think that it was really interesting to take a peek at his practices, as well as to open up about my own! I'm also really glad that I got to analyze other authors' works, as variety in the content you engage with is critical to learning and growing further. I also enjoyed just getting to read works from authors I enjoy, and it was a good excuse to buy physical copies of their books! One thing that I feel was a nice touch to add were the highlighted poems. Engaging with the poetic community leads me to encounter poems out in the wild from various authors, and while I don't always want to analyze these works, posting them allows me to share them further, so that other people can experience some of the works that move me. All in all, I think this was a really fun project to undertake, and I learned quite a bit from it. I'm glad I did it!
